Responsibility for today and tomorrow

Sustainability is more than just an ‘in’ word for DailyFresh Logistics. Sustainability is anchored in the services we provide our customers. Price, quality and sustainability are increasingly bound up in one another. All our logistics solutions are partly assessed on the basis of their social responsibility. Every day, we aim for sustainability by using a broad range of transport and logistics services. By road, water, rail or a combination of all three. We demand that our transportation partners meet sustainability criteria. Moreover, we monitor energy consumption at our logistics centres closely. We are happy to rise to this challenge and take responsibility.

Cooperation in strength, expertise and innovation

DailyFresh Logistics coordinates temperature-controlled logistics chains, thereby guaranteeing the delivery of fresh produce 52 weeks a year. We do this not just by ourselves, but in conjunction with an extensive network of logistics partners. These are flexible transportation companies and other service providers accustomed to working according to the high quality criteria applied by DailyFresh Logistics. We like to call them our partners in logistics; they contribute daily to improving and coordinating more efficiently supply and demand in transportation capacity. And this network is expanding all the time. Transparency, expertise and confidence in each other’s qualities are essential here. Working together with our partners to come up with new and innovative logistics solutions is a key part of how DailyFresh Logistics operates and thinks.

The strength of DailyFresh Logistics in Europe derives from its strategic partnership with three renowned transport and logistics organisations: Dutch companies Visbeen Transport and Post-Kogeko Logistics and Danish company DFDS.

A past which looks to the future

DailyFresh Logistics was created out of a strategic alliance and has grown into an independent logistics stronghold. The company has evolved substantially over the past few years. In 1998, Visbeen Transport, Post-Kogeko Logistics and the then Norfolkline (now DFDS) combined forces to transport fruit and vegetables from the Netherlands to the United Kingdom. This new alliance not only reduced fragmentation and created more efficient solutions, it also laid the foundations for a unique and successful logistics concept. In retrospect, it proved to be an innovative initiative, as DailyFresh Logistics is now viewed as one of the forerunners of the Control Tower concept in the fresh produce market and possesses the expertise, the latest technology, the most advanced systems and the best professionals.

Road Transport

As a logistics service provider, DailyFresh Logistics works closely with an extensive network of dedicated transportation partners. This means that DailyFresh Logistics has direct access to a large pool of vehicles which can be deployed flexibly. Our customers can turn to DailyFresh Logistics for all kinds of transportation, from a single pallet to a full load, from regular traffic flows to ad-hoc transportation. Our smart method of combining shipments and our sophisticated transport planning enable us to provide suitable and efficient road transport solutions which meet agreed delivery times and conditions. This involves the timely collection of products, but also timely supplies and deliveries to wholesalers, fresh produce markets and retailer distribution centres. It is not just the physical execution of the order which is in safe hands, we also conduct correct order administration and provide timely information on transportation of your goods.

DailyFresh Logistics conducts regular, daily basic goods transportation from several European regions to the Benelux, Germany, the United Kingdom, France, Ireland, and also to a growing number of destinations in Scandinavia and Central Europe.

Intermodal Solutions

DailyFresh Logistics looks to the future and its constant focus is therefore on seeking ideal combinations for transportation solutions. Growing congestion on European roads, but also the large number of successive production seasons in a year, means that there is an ever greater need for intermodal solutions. Our objective is to make better and in particular more efficient use of the different options offered by road, water and rail transport. From containers to trailers, or vice versa, or without any temporary breaks in the chain. Linking the individual transport solutions often creates new options for the export (or import) of fresh produce. In doing so, we aim not just to improve sustainability but also to find those intermodal solutions which add something to our service. DailyFresh Logistics possesses the network, expertise, facilities and experience to coordinate intermodal transport flows.

DailyFresh Logistics provides intermodal solutions for fresh produce flows from Northern Africa (including Morocco and Senegal) and Southern Europe (Spain), and also flows with destinations in Central Europe, Russia and Scandinavia.

Cross Docking & Warehousing

At DailyFresh Logistics, shipments and interim storage are seen as a critical link in the logistics chain. These activities are conducted with the utmost care and precision, under the correct temperature-controlled conditions and the supervision of our own, qualified personnel. Our logistics centres offer a wide range of options. For instance, we have at our disposal a total of 15,000m2 of cross-docking and warehousing capacity in three strategic locations in the Netherlands and France. Within two hours of their arrival, pallets can already be on their way to their final destination, or can be stored as interim stock for several days. These logistics activities form a direct and rapid link between the collection and distribution on a groupage basis, or can form the basis for flexible delivery on demand by the receiving party. Phytosanitary inspections and the entire procedure from customs declarations and clearance all form part of our service. We ensure that not a single pallet, trailer or container leaves the premises without the correct documents.

DailyFresh Logistics possesses the capacity and manpower to process thousands of pallets each day in a flexible, efficient and effective manner.

Supply Chain Control

In its capacity as supply chain controller, DailyFresh Logistics is happy to take responsibility for the entire logistics process. The ultimate aim is to relieve customers of their logistics concerns so that they can focus fully on their own key activities. This starts by determining the customers’ total logistics requirement, including identifying together any areas for improvement. Our combination of expertise and information enables us to consider the situation and make the correct logistics decisions, and at the same time we offer our customers insight and transparency into the services we provide. The objective is maximum communication with the client, preferably using digital means. In doing so, we set ourselves the challenge of constantly seeking improvements and implementing new applications in order management, planning and decision-making systems. This is all part of optimising the service we provide for our customers. Chain control entails possessing the right information, at the right time and actively managing according to it.

DailyFresh Logistics has the competences and systems at its disposal to control the entire logistics chain. This enables us to keep the lines to sales markets and consumers as short as possible, and by doing so keep the produce fresh.
