DailyFresh Logistics appoints Niels Sneek as Managing Director

Maasdijk, 8 February 2010

DailyFresh Logistics, specialist in transport & logistics for vegetables, fruit and other fresh produce has appointed Niels Sneek as its Managing Director.

Niels Sneek (38) studied Economics at Erasmus University Rotterdam, majoring in Transport and Port Economics. After graduating he gained his initial experience in the sector, after which he worked until 2005 at Nolan, Norton & Co. as a consultant in the field of strategic advice and implementation. At the end of 2005 he took up the position as Director of Sales & Business Development at Jan de Rijk Logistics.

The shareholders of DailyFresh Logistics, namely Visbeen, Post-Kogeko and Norfolkline, have warmly welcomed the arrival of Niels Sneek. According to one of the spokespersons: "Niels brings a lot of knowledge and experience in the area of European transport, distribution and logistics. In his most recent position at Jan de Rijk Logistics he introduced new logistics concepts, including in the area of temperature controlled transport and distribution. Additionally, we are confident that his experience and talents will give the strategy of DailyFresh Logistics renewed direction and substance."

Niels Sneek confirms that the positioning and opportunities for growth of DailyFresh Logistics in the European fruit and vegetable market were decisive factors in taking up this new challenge: "DailyFresh Logistics is a unique company. Since its foundation in 1998 the company has gained a strong foothold in the English and Irish markets in particular. Developments in recent years, such as the new depots in Dunkirk and Venlo and the move to the new location in Maasdijk, show that the company is ambitious and is focusing on seizing new opportunities in the market. By continuing to expand and align the company's commercial and operational strength, including the cooperation with existing partners, DailyFresh Logistics should be able to achieve its ambitions for expansion in Europe.

Last week DailyFresh Logistics has successfully presented the first steps towards its new strategic focus at the Fruit Logistica exhibition in Berlin. With the introduction of the concept "Chain control in Fresh produce", DailyFresh Logistics will be focusing more strongly on creating the link between the customer, the product and the market, and offering tailor-made solutions for the various fresh produce chains as a logistics service provider.
